KEENE, N.Y. – The Adirondack Land Trust is pleased to welcome Samantha Duchaine as its new office administrator, supporting the organization's day-to-day operations, administration, and human resources management. Duchaine brings a background in local food systems and a degree in environmental studies to her role.

"From the start, Sam has shown strong attention to detail and a clear, thoughtful approach to communication," says Adirondack Land Trust Executive Director Mike Carr. "She keeps complex systems running smoothly and contributes to a positive, collaborative work environment. We're thrilled to have her on the team."

Duchaine was previously the distribution and operations manager for the Essex Food Hub, a nonprofit based in Westport, New York, that provides small farms and food businesses with the infrastructure and distribution to grow. Prior to that, she spent a decade building her own business and managing a market garden for a nonprofit food co-op.

"As a lover of wilderness and outdoor recreation with a farming background and history working in the food system, it feels incredibly fulfilling to join an organization whose mission is to protect the very land these activities rely on," Duchaine said.

The Adirondack Land Trust works to forever conserve the forests, farmlands, waters and wild places that advance the quality of life of our communities and the ecological integrity of the Adirondacks.
